Different Angles Therapy & Inclusion

Different Angles Therapy & Inclusion is committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal and health information. We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal and health information across our early intervention, developmental educator, counselling, family support, and advocacy services.

What Information We Collect

We may collect personal and sensitive information including:

  • Names, contact details, and demographic information

  • Information about you or your child’s development, health, wellbeing, and support needs

  • Assessment information, reports, session notes, and progress data

  • NDIS details (where applicable)

  • Information you provide via forms, email, phone, telehealth platforms, or in sessions

We only collect information that is reasonably necessary to provide services and meet professional obligations.

How Information Is Used

Your information may be used to:

  • Provide therapy, developmental educator, counselling, and family support services

  • Develop support plans, assessments, and reports

  • Support NDIS access, plan reviews, and advocacy

  • Communicate with you about appointments and services

  • Meet legal, funding, and professional requirements

We do not sell or rent personal information.

Disclosure of Information

Information may be shared:

  • With your consent

  • With other professionals involved in your or your child’s support (e.g., schools, therapists, support coordinators)

  • When required by law

We may be legally required to disclose information without consent in situations involving risk of serious harm, child protection concerns, or mandatory reporting obligations.

Only relevant information is shared.

Storage and Security

Client information is stored securely using password-protected electronic systems and/or locked storage. Reasonable safeguards are used to protect information from loss, misuse, or unauthorised access.

Records are retained in line with legal and professional requirements. Children’s records are kept until at least age 25. Adult records are retained for a minimum of 7 years after last contact.

Electronic Communication

While reasonable steps are taken to protect electronic communications, the transmission of information via email or online platforms carries some inherent risk. By engaging with our services, you acknowledge and accept these risks.

Access and Correction

You may request access to your personal information and request corrections if information is inaccurate or incomplete.
